The cabin doors opened and Violet when stood up from her seat, she vowed to herself that the moment she steps out of the plane, she will leave behind her every thing that has been haunting her.
Suvarnabhumi Airport has always been busy. Everyone has places to go and people to meet, Violet thought as she lined up for the immigration. In less than an hour, she'll see Jane and the thought made her smile.
After her passport has been stamped, she made her way to the meeting place and looked around for a familiar face.
Where could Jane be?
"Violet!" And there she was, the most cheerful friend Jane has in her washed out denims and sleeveless top, still as perky and bubbly as ever.
The smile Jane gave Violet warmed her heart. This was the right place to be, Violet thought.
I called mom last night to say sorry for breaking her heart with my racy photos I asked Liam to take for photography class. She wasn't angry though. She said that she understood where I was coming from.
I told her how I feel scared of the anger I am feeling. She suggested I get away for a while. Moms always know the best things.
And so that is what I am doing right now. Maybe people will think I am running away... it doesn't matter. Mom is right, I need time to breathe... time to think things through... time to process what I feel... and perhaps time to forgive dad and let go of all these anger pent up inside of me.
I am on my way to the airport now. I bought a ticket to Thailand and I am taking the first flight out. I can't wait to see my friend, Jane, who is based in Bangkok. And really, I can't wait to get away.
Dad was so angry when I got home after meeting Amelia. I suppose if he didn't love me, he would have already ripped my head off... but then again, it's because he loves me that he reacted that way. The pictures that Liam took for our photography class reached dad.
Grandma found out about it through someone from school. I didn't even ask who. She knows everyone who is anyone. She told dad and dad confronted me. He was so angry. If I weren't angry, I would have been really scared. Dad had never once been that angry with me. He shut up when I said that I got the reaction I was hoping for... that I wanted him to feel how angry his affair is making me feel.
There is just so many anger in me that I feel I can explode anytime. I'm a walking time bomb. I'm afraid of myself... of this anger... of what I can do with it.
I am so unhappy. I feel so alone. I feel so heartbroken. I hate the things I am feeling.
Violet and Amelia sang together as the chauffeur took them to Central Park. This is how it should be, Violet thought. She felt so happy that Amelia is back. She knows that with Amelia, she can get through the rough time that her family is having.
Amelia hugged Violet, as if to tell her that everything will be okay.
"Thank you, Amie. You don't know how happy you made me just being back here." Violet told her best friend.
Violet could barely taste the fine dishes prepared by her grandmother's cook. She could barely keep up with the conversation that her grandmother is having with her.
"Violet, you barely touched your food. Is there something bothering you, child?" Her grandmother asked.
Violet shook her head. It is not right to get her granny involved in this mess.
"If you are going to act like that all night, you should have just called me and cancelled dinner. You are not showing good manners, dear." Her grandmother berated her.
"I'm sorry, gran. It's just that there are these things that are bothering me." Violet said apologetically.
When dinner was over, her grandmother requested she stay behind. She told Violet that it might take her mind off of things if she spends a night away from things that worry her. Violet agreed. This could help her... yes, this just might help her.
"Do you know anyone? Or do you have any other ideas? Violet?" Liam asked for the third time. Since Violet walked into class, she has looked preoccupied. Unhappy and definitely angry. Something is bothering her and Liam knows that her mind is elsewhere.
"Me." Violet replied, surprising Liam. He thought she wasn't listening at all. He didn't think she'd reply.
"Are you sure what you're saying?" Liam asked still surprised.
"Yes. We'll take the concept of sensuality and I'll be our model." Violet answered him.
Liam couldn't believe his ears.
"Violet, we both know you don't have to work in front of the camera. You can work with me behind it. We can just direct from behind the camera. That's what photographers do, isn't it?" Liam said.
"I know that, Liam. But I am telling you that I'll model for us." Violet told him.
"I can just look for a model, you know. I know a lot of women who will agree -"
"I know a lot of women who will agree to do this as well, Liam. But I will do it." Violet said cutting Liam.
"Do you know what you are committing to?" Liam asked again just to be sure.
"Gosh, Liam! How many times do I have to tell you and how can I make myself any clearer? Yes. I know what I am saying and yes, I want to do this, ok?" Violet replied a bit irritated with Liam.
Soon, Liam and Violet headed to one of the studios and started working on their prints. Violet stripped down to her intimates and without a care in the world, posed before the camera. She knows that these prints will reach her parents. Her mom will understand but her dad will be furious and that is why she even thought of doing this in the first place.
Modelling has never been her thing but doing it now, she is finding it quite fun... but that could be because she has a motive. When her dad finds these prints, she will have succeeded in shocking him and causing him a small measure of the hurt he is causing them.
Coming home from brunch with Estelle and Laura, Violet found Eliza Smith at the living room. She couldn't help but glare at Eliza and she yelled for her dad. She found him at his study room.
"What is that woman doing here?" She asked her father angrily.
"Eliza is here on business. You know she works for me, darling." Her father responded calmly.
"Does mom know she is here?" Violet asked, she was still so angry.
"Your mother left this morning. I don't see why she has to know. Eliza is here only for business. We work together, darling. Why are you so angry this early in the morning? Brunch didn't go well with the girls?" Her dad asked trying to understand.
Violet glared at her father. "You work together? Well apparently the work you do with her is quite different from the business you run." Violet said angrily.
"I know, dad! I found out even before mom did so don't you dare deny it! I can't believe you are doing this to us! How dare you dad?! How dare you even bring that woman here!!!" Violet bursted into anger and tears.
Her dad looked at her shocked, not knowing what to do or say.
"If you don't ask her to leave now, I swear I am going to drag her out of this house! Make her leave! Now!" Violet yelled as tears streamed down her face.
Mr. Montague made a quick call to Eliza and instructed her to wait for him in his car.
Violet was so angry and it even made her angrier to know that his dad will continue to have his affair. When he finished his call, he closed the gap between him and Violet.
"You hurt me, dad. You hurt mom. But you hurt me the most," Violet said in between tears. "You hurt me!" She said angrily as she pushed his dad away.
"How can you do this to us dad? How can you do this to me and to mom?" She asked.
"I'm sorry, darling. You know I love you. I love you and your mom." Her father answered.
"Sorry?! You hurt us this much and all you can tell me is that you are sorry?!" She said angrily. "If you love mom and me, you'd stop this affair. That's the only way for you to start making it up to us. What have we done to deserve this hurt, dad? What?!!"
"You've done nothing, darling. I love you and I'm sorry."
Violet shook her head in disbelief. The only thing she wanted to hear was that her dad will stop having an affair.
"Nothing has changed, darling. And nothing has to change. We're still a family." Her father assured her.
Violet shook her head in indignation.
"No, dad. You are wrong. Everything has changed. Nothing is the same. And nothing will be the same as long as you carry on with this illicit affair of yours. You hurt me like no one has ever hurt me before. And I can't believe that you do." Violet said in tears. She left the room and ran to her own room.
Dialing Amelia's number, she waited as tears continued to run down from her eyes.
"Amie, I need you. Please come home. I need you." She said as soon as Amelia has answered.
